ABOUT WENDY

"I’m everything dog.

I live in beautiful South Arm on a small property I bought for my Pointers Myrtle and Hero. They are great at sharing, so we live happily at the beach together.

What makes me a good trainer? My desire to work closely with people to get the best out of their dogs.

I understand how much we all love our dogs and I live for that moment where people see the work they put in starting to work for them and their dog.

I have a certificate III in Dog Training and Behaviour. I have lived with dogs all my life and have been working with them as a professional for 10 years. I have a performance background which fuels my love for teaching classes (I really did run away to the circus as a teenager!)

I love to mentor other trainers and have had the pleasure to do that for the last 5 years. I am lucky enough to have a job that makes me smile and laugh every day.

I service all ares of Southern Tasmania. "

ABOUT MADDIE

"I was lucky enough to know very early on that I wanted to work with dogs.

I literally stepped out of school into the dog industry and that passion has just bloomed from there. I began training with Wendy about four years ago and have learned huge amounts, continuing to expand this knowledge every day.

I have a background in fostering dogs from rescues whos stories are often very sad- I love to try to make a difference with any and every dog. Just like people, every dog has a background and personality and it’s so important we recognise this and are kind, gentle and patient in order to understand them.

I am passionate about being an advocate for dogs to ensure their lives are fulfilled to the best of our abilities."

ABOUT MAry

"There is truly something remarkable about the relationship you can share with your dog.

My whole life, I cannot remember a time that I wasn’t dog obsessed. I am fascinated by the diversity of breeds, and the behaviours and traits that each breed holds unique to them.

As I begin my studies through the Karen Pryor Dog Trainer Professional Program, I am so grateful to have Wendy as my mentor, and am proud to wear the ‘HOBARK’ badge. I have been busy raising my young family of three children for the last decade. During this time I have become really passionate about raising kids and puppies together in harmony. I love teaching children safe and fun ways to build healthy relationships with their dogs. I have always worked with a diverse range of people, and thoroughly enjoy meeting people from all walks of life.

I am really excited to learn, grow, and develop my skill set in the dog world through study, and most importantly, through the interactions with you and your lovely dogs!"

" I contacted Wendy as I was struggling with my two boxers. In particular the younger male had some behaviour issues that were really challenging. It had gotten to the point where I was no longer able to walk the dogs as they were pulling me over. I was at the point of rehoming the boy as I couldn’t handle him at all. Contacting Wendy was the best thing I’ve done. Not only have the dog’s mastered some basic obedience we are also now walking everyday. By far the best outcome is how she helped me understand their behaviour and it has done wonders for my relationship with our dogs.
